IRS Form 990N

Form 990N is a new tax filing, required by the IRS, for all non-profit entities with gross revenues under $50,000.  For more detailed information regarding this form and filing click here to be directed to the IRS website FAQ section on form 990N.

IRS Form 990EZ or 990

Forms 990EZ or 990 must be filed if a club has revenues greater than $50,000.  You may download these forms and instructions at http://www.irs.gov/.

IRS 501(c)(3) status information

The IRS has created publication 4221 - Compliance Guide for 501(c)(3) public charities.  If you would like to download a copy of this 36 page pamphlet click here. This is a wonderful compact guide to the requirements of all 501(c)(3) organizations including information on record retention.

IRS Trainings

The IRS has created a new website called StayExempt.org.  This website has free training on non-profit information.  This site is designed to teach volunteers about basic tax compliance.  It is a virtual workshop based upon characters commonly found in the non-profit sector, Tim the Treasurer and Vernon the Volunteer.  To learn more about these trainings or to take one go to http://www.stayexempt.irs.gov/.
